cat adventure (HAPPY ENDING)

we have three cats. the first two, cocoa and strider (guess which one i named) are siblings who we've had for years. they also don't get along that much. they are not the main subject of this post.
the third cat is named fin. we took fin in from a friend of my sister's who was like, moving or something, and wouldn't be able to keep him. fin is an orange cat who is incredibly social with humans. like, he's seriously like the antithesis of every "antisocial cat" stereotype. one of his favorite places to sleep is on my chest.
fin problem #1 is that he's a bit of a bully to our other cats.
fin problem #2 is that he's an indoor cat. our other cats are indoor-outdoor cats (note: i am aware that there are inherent problems with letting your cats be outdoor cats, however, i am not the one in charge of the pets in this household) and they're what we're used to. so indoor-only fin is a bit of a struggle.
which lead to today's crisis, in which fin got out of the house and escaped completely. this was probably around 12-14 hours ago. my dad tried to entice him back with treats but he disappeared into a neighbor's yard and was gone.
i learned about this after i got up this afternoon and was very saddened. of anyone in the house, fin is closest to me; he's annoyed my siblings and to some extent my parents for bullying our other cats and generally being a pest, but he really likes me and likes to cuddle with me and follow me around.
i did a little walking around my street and trying to entice with treats, but i had to leave to go play monster of the week with my friends. i mostly was able to put fin out of my head as i did so. but then i got back home, and fin was still gone. i watched youtube, etc. for a few others, before i developed a Plan around 2am.
in our front yard we have some remarkably comfortable seating, including a long wooden rocking bench with a padded seat. so i set up there: i brought out several blankets and pillows and dressed warm. i brought a bag of treats to shake, and of course my phone.
and so for the next ~1.5 hours, i watched achievement hunter to ward away tears, and every so often i would shake the treat bag or call out Fin's name. i did not think this would work, but i had to try.
AND THEN. NEARLY 4AM. I HEAR A MEOW. AND THEN ANOTHER ONE. and then i'm trying not to cry in relief as fin scampers up to me from the street. i carried him back inside, and now he's back to bullying strider, like usual.
i'm so happy this worked, y'all. i'm so happy.
