graveexcitementi am on a roll this week in bandori! full combo'd expert Silhouette just now. it's not a song i usually play, which is why it's neat when people in multiplayer pick songs that aren't played that often. (you know, instead of FUWA-FUWA TIME for the eight thousandth time. no, i'm not salty, why do you ask?) i also just played Goka! Gokai!? Phantom Thief! on expert for the first time, and while i did barely manage to clear it, i was going what the fuck is going on the whole time.
anyhow, back to zero escape.
this time it's going to be more of a stream-of-consciousness as i play through some more fragments
curious to see if any path ever leads to eric seeing mira for who she really is.
just saw another bad end (the bad end of Pop Off) where Q was shot, with a shotgun... no blood. in another fragment, Sigma and Phi talk about Q-Team being announced death: "But, even Q...?" / "He had to deal with a handicap... He probably didn't even realize something was wrong..." so, they know something's up; not sure how much they actually know.
ouch. i've already done several fragments in which people see junpei's severed head, so i know that the Suspicion fragment (in which they're in the pantry and junpei is missing) is going to end badly. that makes this touching conversation at the beginning of it hurt more. ...of course, the scene at the beginning of Pop Off was also a touching moment with eric, and look how that went.
also... uh... regardless of if the severed body parts in the pantry escape room were real or not... that's really fucking macabre... wow
reverie syndrome, huh... an altered version of radical-6? it's described as "A variety of moments flicker in and out of the mind, as if one was constantly dreaming." hmmm. the similarities of that description to the fragmented nature of the Decision Game can't be a coincidence.
ahhhhh. well, now my questions about Q have largely been answered. still confused though as it turns out "SEAN" just gives "ERROR" in the Triangle decision. if Q's name wasn't the name i had to input, why does it ask for Q's real name when I just put "Q"? what other possible choice is there???
six deaths required from the decision game, and six deaths in the "seventeen years ago story." but which of the 9 participants equate to which deaths? the murdered woman, the falsely accused man, the man's wife, the scientist, the taxi driver, and the ill boy...
-Q is modeled after the young, ill boy
-the scientist would probably be Sigma
-would that make the taxi driver Phi?
-and then, what about the other 3...?
so far there's been two examples of a split/copied existence: Sigma and Diana with the transporter, and Q with the quantum computer simulation. both times, the Q and Sigma who stay in their original timeline/world ask "Why am I here" or "Why am I on this side?" curious to see if any more situations like that show up.
FHGSFHGFSH i just started up Force Quit: D and Sigma jokingly calls for a cab, after i started thinking sigma might represent the scientist and phi his taxi driver... #2Spooky
anyhow, slightly peeved because even though i learned Q's name and Zero told Q to remember a certain 8-digit number, i can't put in either of those for the Triangle decision point or the Door of Truth decision, respectively.
...aaaaand now i'm disappointed that the special 8-digit number also does nothing for the Force Quit Q decision. i mean, maybe it really was just to unlock Q's orb head? and the fact that it's 8 digits is just to troll the player?
mm. well, i guess i'm done for the night. it is nearly 7am... and where i'm at right now in the game, i think to unlock anything/gain more information i'll have to go down some of the more deadly roads not taken (esp. the First Come, First Saved decisions) and see if i learn anything there. some of them feel really dumb though, like... i hope the secret to unlocking a path doesn't rely on answering the monty hall problem incorrectly, lmao.
side note. what the hell is with that 3rd branch on the Fire decision point. because 1) if you're either pulling the trigger or not doing so, how is there a 3rd action to take, and 2) that branch leads to Anthropic Principle, and my notes there list Diana and Sigma as dead, but not Phi. so, what the hell?
also. still wondering how in the heck mira is able to get from Q ward to D ward. my only plausible theory is that the golden doors are doors to the other wards -- one of them is seen in the locker room by diana and sigma, and the other one is glimpsed in the pod room (during Q team's execution). so maybe that's it? but if so how does mira get the password?
...i mean, unless it's not mira who murders D-Team in the Don't Press Button ending, but...? pretty sure the shoes are the same (same walking sounds) and there's a closeup of the killer's black nails at one point. combined with her having started a killing spree with Eric and Q (well, "killed" Q) just previously, i don't have a good reason to believe this isn't mira, but in that case, how did she get in...
anyhow. going to bed shortly. had a good christmas -- my younger brother got Super Smash Bros Ultimate, so me and my siblings played that for a few hours earlier. it's fun! we didn't open all of our presents, though, as my grandma and aunt are flying in later today, so we decided to hold off on opening the presents from them til they get here. so later today (since it's already 7am now lmao) we'll have christmas part 2: electric boogaloo. hopefully i'll be awake and not completely sleep deprived. lmao.
(this is becoming a pattern for me with zero escape. after my last final a few weeks ago i came home and played Virtue's Last Reward, and then i kept playing for the next eleven or so hours, give or take, because i was finally at the point where i was Figuring Out All The Things.)
